Description

The Karin Dresser in Distant Blue finish reinterprets Scandinavian design through a more architectural and contemporary perspective, where color is not merely decorative but becomes a tool to define volume, depth and interaction with light. Crafted entirely from solid tulipwood, the piece retains a compact and well-balanced structure, visually softened by a matte, desaturated finish. The Distant Blue tone does not conceal the material; instead, it enhances it, allowing the natural grain of the wood to remain visible. The surface subtly shifts depending on lighting conditions, creating a refined and ever-changing visual effect. The drawer fronts are composed through a controlled asymmetrical arrangement. Overlapping panels create a dynamic rhythm that breaks traditional linearity while maintaining overall balance. This design detail reflects Scandinavian restraint, enriched by a more tactile and artisanal sensibility. The three drawers, made from solid ash wood, are assembled using traditional dovetail joints both at the front and back, ensuring long-term durability and structural integrity. Integrated finger pulls eliminate the need for external handles, preserving a clean and uninterrupted aesthetic. Concealed Blum full-extension runners with soft-close function provide smooth and silent operation. A stabilizing bar has also been integrated to synchronize drawer movement, improving both precision and longevity. The base features a structural frame with subtly angled legs, crafted in the same material and finish as the main body. This detail introduces a sense of lightness and a subtle dynamic tension to the overall form. In this version, the Karin Dresser is particularly suited for contemporary and minimalist interiors, where color is not an accent but an integral part of the design, interacting naturally with light, neutral surfaces and essential materials.
