Reika Solid Walnut Sideboard

Designed by Erika Gambella, the Reika Sideboard interprets storage furniture as an architectural element sculpted from solid wood, where geometry, depth and light create a refined balance with a strong contemporary identity. Crafted entirely from solid canaletto walnut, Reika combines design research, artisanal craftsmanship and material richness in a composition defined by timeless elegance and sculptural presence. The structure develops through a sequence of recessed volumes that create a sophisticated interplay of solids and voids. The four doors with 45-degree faceted frames define the sculptural character of the piece, generating changing perspectives and light reflections that transform the surface throughout the day. The side compartments, enclosed by extra-clear glass doors and fitted with crystal shelves, resemble illuminated display niches. The integrated 3000K warm LED lighting, dimmable and controllable via app, is not merely a technical feature but an essential part of the design itself, enhancing the architectural depth of the composition while highlighting the natural grain of the walnut with a refined and sophisticated effect. At the center of the sideboard, four solid wood drawers crafted with traditional dovetail joinery express the quality of true artisanal woodworking. Blum runners with push opening system and Blumotion soft-close mechanism ensure smooth and precise daily use, while the discreet integrated recessed grip preserves the purity of the geometric design. The base also plays a fundamental architectural role. Composed of two open geometric solid wood structures, it visually supports and elevates the volume of the sideboard, creating a sophisticated balance between strength and visual lightness. The oil finish enhances the natural depth, texture and tonal richness of the walnut while preserving the authentic tactile quality of solid wood over time.
